AnnuAl   eye   exams

Annual  eye  exams:

Essential for your vision and health, eye exams should be part of your yearly doctor appointments. Your eyes are one of your most important assets, yet they often go unnoticed until something goes wrong. That’s why annual eye exams are crucial, even if you’re not experiencing any noticeable vision problems in the moment. As an optometrist office, our goal is to not only ensure your vision is sharp but also to detect any potential issues that may affect the long-term health of your eyes.

What  happens  during  your  eye  exam?

During your exam, we’ll assess your vision to make sure your prescription is up-to-date, helping you see clearly whether you’re driving, reading, or working at a computer. But vision isn’t the only thing we focus on. We’ll also conduct a thorough evaluation of the health of your eyes, checking for early signs of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration — some of which don’t show symptoms until they’re more advanced. Detecting these issues early means that they can often be managed or treated more effectively, preserving your vision for years to come.

why  are  annual  exams  important?

Vision changes gradually, and many eye conditions develop silently over time. Even if you think your vision is fine, an eye exam can uncover problems before they become noticeable. For instance, eye diseases like glaucoma can cause irreversible damage without showing any symptoms in the early stages. The earlier we can detect and treat these conditions, the better your chances of maintaining clear, healthy vision throughout your life.

In addition to checking for diseases, regular eye exams are also important for your overall health. Your eyes can give us insights into other health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and even signs of neurological problems. This makes eye exams an essential part of your wellness routine, not just for maintaining good vision but for your overall health.

More  than  just  a  simple  vision  test:

Our comprehensive eye exams include a series of tests that go beyond reading an eye chart. We use advanced equipment to check the health of your eyes, ensuring that any potential issues are caught early. From retinal imaging to tests for refractive errors, our goal is to give you a full picture of your eye health. If your prescription has changed, we’ll help you find the perfect glasses or contacts to keep you seeing clearly. And don't worry -- We have no machines that blow into your eye like some of the other places!

Don't  wait  until  there's  a  problem.

Many eye conditions develop gradually and without pain, making it easy to ignore or underestimate their importance. Scheduling an eye exam every year is a simple way to ensure that your eyes remain in good health and that your vision stays sharp. Whether you’re due for an update to your prescription or just want peace of mind about the health of your eyes, an annual exam is a proactive step in caring for your vision. Make sure you put us in your yearly doctor rotations!
We have recently two pieces of equipment that can make the eye examination process quicker and easier!

Our Optos Retinal Scanner may be used to take a  picture of  the back of your eyes, which means there is no need for dilation. An insurance copay may apply.

The OCT Angiography machine allows an in depth look into detecting and monitoring glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Both complement our computerized refractions and corneal topographer to give a precise determination of your eyeglass and contact lens prescription.
