What Eye Disease Management Involves

Chronic eye conditions often require more than one-time treatment. Management involves regular monitoring, symptom tracking, prescription adjustments, and sometimes referral to a specialist when needed.

We use advanced imaging tools like OCT and Optomap® to monitor changes in your eyes and adjust care plans accordingly.

How We Approach Long-Term Vision Care at Maple Glen Eyecare

At each appointment, we check your vision, discuss any symptoms or changes, and review test results with you, clearly and without pressure.

We believe patients should leave feeling informed and supported, not overwhelmed. Our team will explain next steps and answer any questions.

Eye Diseases We Commonly Monitor & Treat

We care for patients with a range of medical eye conditions, including:

  • Glaucoma—pressure checks and visual field testing.

  • Dry Eye Syndrome with in-office diagnostics and treatment plans.

  • Diabetic Retinopathy, often in coordination with your primary doctor.

  • Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

  • Keratoconus, with specialty contact lens management

  • Cataract co-management—before and after surgery.

If you’ve been diagnosed elsewhere and need continued support, we’re happy to work with you and your provider.

Tools We Use to Monitor Your Eye Health

We use tools like:

  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Angiography (OCT-A) to view layers and blood vessels of the retina.

  • Optomap® imaging for a wide view of the retina.

  • Corneal topography for keratoconus and post-surgical eyes.

  • Visual field testing to track peripheral vision loss in glaucoma.

These help us identify minor changes before they become bigger problems.

When to Schedule an Appointment for Eye Disease Management

If you’ve been diagnosed with an eye condition, or are at risk because of age, family history, or health factors like diabetes. It’s important to be seen regularly.

Even if you aren’t having symptoms, consistent care can help prevent vision loss and give you peace of mind.
