LASIK & Refractive Surgery Co-Management in Maple Glen

If you’re thinking about LASIK or another vision correction procedure, we can guide you through the process, from the initial consultation to post-op recovery. While we don’t perform surgery at Maple Glen Eyecare, we partner with trusted surgeons and provide local care before and after your procedure.

How Refractive Surgery Co-Management Works

We offer pre- and post-operative care for LASIK, PRK, and other refractive procedures. You’ll visit our office for the evaluation, testing, and ongoing check-ins, while your surgery is performed by a local ophthalmologist. This collaborative approach gives you expert eye care, and the convenience of working with your regular eye doctor throughout the process.

Who Is a Suitable Candidate for LASIK?

Refractive surgery may be a good option if you’re over 18, have a stable prescription, and are in good general eye health.

During your evaluation, we’ll review your prescription, corneal thickness, lifestyle factors, and overall eye health to help determine if LASIK or another option is right for you.

If it’s not a good fit, we’ll talk through alternatives.

What to Expect Before Eye Surgery

Your pre-operative exam will include corneal topography, pupil measurements, and a complete eye health review. If you wear contacts, we’ll provide guidance on discontinuing lens wear ahead of your procedure.

We will also talk through the procedure timeline and answer any questions about recovery, risks, or expectations.

Follow-Up Care After Your Refractive Procedure

Post-op visits are an important part of refractive surgery care. We’ll monitor healing, check your vision stability, and make sure there are no complications such as dryness, haze, or inflammation.

Most patients are seen the day after surgery, again at one week, and then at one month, though schedules may vary slightly.

Other Refractive Procedures We Support

In addition to LASIK, we provide co-management for procedures like:

  • PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)

  • SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction)

  • Refractive lens exchange

  • Clear lens extraction with IOLs

Not sure which option fits your needs? We’ll walk through each one and connect you with a surgeon if you choose to move forward.
